Re: My SoE campaign - Session reports
We sure did, thanks! We visited the north coast, from Honfleur via Caen, Saint Malo and Trebeurden to Crozon and then back via Rouen - it was absolutely fantastic. And I've always been a huge fan of french cuisine and wine, so a whole vacation with great food every day was a like a dream come true (and that makes me even more interested in the GastronoGeek PDF as well...
).
I'm currently planning on having the group explore the political power of the Demorthèn a bit more and then set them on another journey, this time to the west coast of Tri-Kazel. One of the players was born there and is searching for his lost fiancee that was last seen there. But I don't want to say too much, as at least one player (Hi Simon!
) is reading this forum as well.

Re: My SoE campaign - Session reports
Here's the session report for our latest session (after a longer hiatus due to lots of people being on vacation):
The Return to Garad
The players caught me somewhat unprepared with their plan to return to the village from the beginning of the previous story arc, so this whole session was just improvisation on my part (I had planned to send them off to the west coast this session).

Re: My SoE campaign - Session reports
Nice session! It seems like your Players are really into it, and are playing their Characters seriously, trying to do what seems best. And I can see you've taken liberties with the universe, which is a good thing; Shadows of Esteren is before all your Shadows of Esteren, so you must feel free to add or take out whatever seems pertinent to you.
I wish you and your Players a good continuation!

Allez, come on, allons-y, here we go, en avant, godspeed, hardi, let's do this!

Re: My SoE campaign - Session reports
And here's the session report for yesterday's session:
Tragedy
The death of the little girl caused quite an outcry at the table, one player feeling that my decision to have her die from taking the wrong medicine was unfair and they should have been allowed to make die rolls to realize their mistake - but I see it not as my job to save them from the consequences of the bad and uninformed decisions they make. Interestingly, the other players, even Ruairidh's player, who made the final mistake, were completely fine with this outcome.

Sometimes death should feel like a sucker punch. And a sucker punch never feels good. I've killed NPCs in games and had players react similarly.Storyteller1976 a écrit :And here's the session report for yesterday's session:

Though a die roll to realize they made a mistake seems odd. If that were the case then they ought to be making a die roll after every action; who knows what seemingly successful action was actually a fatal mistake? Down that hole lies madness.
And cookies. But mostly madness.

Re: My SoE campaign - Session reports
And the next two session reports are up:
Session 2-4 - The Dice Have Been Cast and accompanying notes from one of my players
Session 2-5 - Spy vs Spy and accompanying notes from one of my players
Things are getting out of hand in Sèol as someone is starting a campaign against the Magientists. And I'm also picking up a plot point from the last story arc again.
