My GenCon Report

I ran four games for GenCon and they all went very well. Players all reported having a good time, were really intrigued by what the game was trying to do. In fact I saw several of my players pick up books from the booth later.

Only one game didn't go off, and that was my 10AM game on Saturday. No idea what happened there. I was talking to the guys at Wildfire (makers of the fantastic CthulhuTech and The Void) and they told me that they saw a number of their own games where no one showed and heard similar stories from other companies. It was posited that perhaps the location was difficult to find.

I can understand that. It took me a moment to find my table.

Picked up my Kickstarter stuff with no problem, and even got Gawain to draw in the core book! I'm telling you, that man is a machine. All I saw him do all through the convention was fastidiously draw. And let me tell you, what he did in my book took my breath away. It wasn't a cheap sketch; no, it was something that could have been published.

And it's mine. You can't have it.

The Agate guys were great and greeted me enthusiastically every time I saw them. A great bunch of guys. My only regret is that scheduling conflicts kept me from hanging out with them after the show.

Now, after the Ennie success, and seeing the real warmth of the people behind it, I only see things getting better from here.

Thank you very much for your help, even if I wasn't there !

The possibility of testing a game is always the best thing to discover it :D

Happy you had also a good time at the GenCon ! :D

Glad to hear it went well for you and kudos for GMing that many games! Did you run different canvases or were they all the same one? I love running the same thing with different groups to see the different ways they react but four times in four days might be a bit much :)

I stuck with "Night of Fright" for all sessions. I figured it was the most rules light and had a great deal of atmosphere; both things the game wants front and center.
