Introduction of the Members
Re: Introduction of the Members
Hello all. I recently saw Book 1 sitting on the shelf of my local gaming store (I live in Austin, TX) while playing The Dresden Files RPG with some friends.
I flipped through it a little and it got inside my brain like a worm. I haven't purchased it yet, but I likely will this weekend.
I'm super bummed I missed the Kickstarter. Any way some of those nifty exlusive PDFs will get filtered out to the masses? Seems like nifty stuff.
Anyway, I'll be at GenCon this year and I'll be sure to stop by the booth and say hello. Maybe, if I read up fast enough, I'll see about volunteering to run a session. I saw the thread about that.
Hope it's not a big thing I didn't post in the French thread... I couldn't read a lick of anything there. The only think I retained from my old French class is I can say, "I don't speak French," in French.
I have, however, recently become obsessed with Alizee... so that's something! Her Mes Courants Electriques album is pretty great all around.

Don't worry, selderane, you find the good place to post. You're welcome in our community and in the shadows.
I'm french, I can read english without any problem but my english writing is certainly full of mistakes. I don't have rentain a lot of thing of my english class but I read a lot of roleplaying games in shakespeare's language
So, it's the first time I try to post in this part of the forum

Ho ho! Glad to see that the Book we've made is so attractive! Be careful though: once you start sinking into the shadows, you may never come back!selderane a écrit :I flipped through it a little and it got inside my brain like a worm. I haven't purchased it yet, but I likely will this weekend.
I don't remember exactly what the content of these exclusive PDFs was, but as far as I can tell, they should indeed be made publicly available in the future. Not for now though; gotta let the early birds enjoy some exclusivity!selderane a écrit :I'm super bummed I missed the Kickstarter. And rest assured that there will be other Kickstarters with other nifty rewards, stretch goals, and exclusive content!
That would be great! We'd be glad to have such support from you, but don't worry if you don't manage to read through the whole book in time; just seeing you there will be nice!selderane a écrit :Anyway, I'll be at GenCon this year and I'll be sure to stop by the booth and say hello. Nah, don't worry. We've created an English section for a reason after all! Actually, seeing some activity there is a welcome thing.selderane a écrit :Hope it's not a big thing I didn't post in the French thread... I couldn't read a lick of anything there. Allez, come on, allons-y, here we go, en avant, godspeed, hardi, let's do this!

So what does the volunteer list for GenCon look like? Are there still openings? What do you guys need?

Re: Introduction of the Members
Hello Everyone,
I am a long time gamer from the UK, currently playing a regular game once a week with a steady group.
Esteren has totally blown me away, I cannot wait for October when my books ship! I am interested in connecting with people on here who will be acting as GL.
With that in mind could a mod give me access to the GL forum?
I actually have book 1 and book 0 but I am waiting to run our first Esteren session until the KS rewards ship. I'd be most grateful for your support when we start!
All the best
Pete

Re: Introduction of the Members
Welcome Peter! Just like you, my first Esteren book, but also the level of quality of for example the GLscreen had blown me away.
Now I'm still running a Fireborn campaign, but I had some testgames with Esteren as well.
So welcome aboard!

Roleplaying is a bit like travelling. You always discover new places and meet new people.

Re: Introduction of the Members
Hi & Welcome Peter Rodway !
I'm very happy you're so found about Esteren ! I hope you will be happy with Book 2 !
You'll have, I think, a lot to play with it, with "A life choice", the canevas and figures...
In order to have access to the GL forum, you just have to write to "Esteren" and ask so. You should have the access in a few days.
Don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions, we'll try to answer to the best ! (even with a cripple english

Re: Introduction of the Members
Thank you for the warm welcome everyone.
You know Iris, I work in the language industry...it makes me smile how the Esteren team always apologises for their English, you are way above the curve in France
This truly is the deepest setting I have ever read, I cannot wait to get going. I could start now with Prologue and book 1 but I really want to wait until the GL Screen and lovely art work arrives!
Is there someone in particular I should PM to get access to the secret area?

Well, that's how we are: as dark as Esteren's universe may be, we remain a warm, united community. Oh, by the way, welcome!Peter Rodway a écrit :Thank you for the warm welcome everyone.
It's true we strive to speak English as well as possible. Personally, I see it as a mark of respect. I guess we are rather self-conscious about our skills because we take pains to express ourselves properly, as opposed to just going at it with a "Meh, as long as I can get myself understood..." mindset.Peter Rodway a écrit :You know Iris, I work in the language industry...it makes me smile how the Esteren team always apologises for their English, you are way above the curve in France
Aw, thanks a bunch! I will never get tired of reading such sweet compliments, so keep them coming!Peter Rodway a écrit :This truly is the deepest setting I have ever read, I cannot wait to get going. Eeyup. Send your PM to "Esteren", and simply (but preferably politely) say that you'd like to be given access to the "Secrets" section of the forum. Is there someone in particular I should PM to get access to the secret area?
