Welcome Kryptovidicus, and thank you very much for your compliments!

It is true that Agone rules (I'm not even being patriotic there, it's simply a good role-playing game). I hope that your Players will feel interested in SoE as well! Don't hesitate to give us game reports to inform us of how you and your group are doing.

The Kickstarter for Book 2 will come in due time! Rest assured that we intend to concoct you some very nice things, and that we look forward to sharing the results of our work with other role-players once more!

Thank you very much Kryptovidicus & Welcome ! :D

For your SoE campaign, if you start this summer, you should already have some scenarios with the Prologue... and some more with Book 2 - Travels... :)

The Kickstarter should take place in june, but as said Clovis, we want to be sure everything is ready in order to propose a lot of interesting things ;)

Thanks a lot for the welcoming words.

It is true that Agone is a very good game. Shame that only two books were translated. I bought and tried to read some others in french. But unfortunately my french wasn't good enough and it took too much time to read even a single chapter.

I've read the scenario's from book 0. Poison and Red Fall are very useful. But Loch Varn seems a bit out of our league as it depends a lot on drama and confusion. Perhaps I'll lead that later as my group gets more experience in true roleplaying.
I didn't know that there were scenarios in book 2. But I'm happy that there will be. Are these also going to be part of the official campaign?
I've read somewhere that book 2 is going to contain a lot more pages in the english version.

This friday I'm going to lead a solo adventure (or perhaps more) for a friend, instead of a tabletop game.
This way I can get familiar with the rules, world and new style of play before I take on the rest of my group. As he likes Yldiane and will be playing her this summer, it is easy to create some scenarios of her journey as a Varigal before she comes to her homevillage Melwan's Vale.
Roleplaying is a bit like travelling. You always discover new places and meet new people.

Ah, I know what you mean. As much as I find it enlightening to read in other languages, I know how much of a pain in the butt it can be to painstakingly translate each sentence as you go! Still, it was very generous of you to give a try to the originals.

It's true Loch Varn is a rather special scenario, which can be very thrilling and breathtaking to play, but also off-putting for some. All the same, I hope that you'll get to have your Players go through it in the future! It's truly a blast.

I'd say they're more of a one-size-fits-all nature. Although some of them (such as "Dites-le avec des fleurs"/"Say it with Flowers") are part of Esteren's large-scale plot, they were all designed to be played by potentially any group, and to be integrated when the GL sees fit.

That's correct! We've gone all-out and made an improved version of Book 2 for the US release, with tons of neat additions!

Sounds like a nice idea for your and his first steps in the universe. Soe's system is rather light and easy to make use of, but some of its elements (such as the Ways) take some getting used to. In any case, should you encounter problems, you know where to get help and advice ;)

Loch Varn was the first scenario that I ever ran as a GM, but it actually went really well for our group, so you might consider trying it. If your players don't have a lot of experience with RPGs, they might struggle with it, but on the other hand it might be a good introduction. If you do decide to run it, do lots of preparation and ask questions here if you want any advice. :)

Hi, I thought I'd pop in and introduce myself. I'm Graham from Wordplay Games. I'm just back from Games Expo 2013 where I was lucky to meet the design team for Shadows of Esteren.

I'm very taken with the game and will be running it at our Furnace Games Convention in October. I hope to see some more gamng action with it between now and then. Perhaps even get to write something for it.

We should all spread the word... ;)

Hej folks,

My name is Vince, and I too am another one back (well - I'm still at the site actually, I leave tomorrow for Denmark) from the UK Games Expo where I stumbled upon your booth.

I have to say, the book is gorgeous, and I've just listened to some of the music tracks, and this is fantastic stuff. I am looking forward to devouring the books in the near future, and seeing if I can convince my local crew to give it a go.

Thanks again for the privilege of meeting you all. Definitely one of my highlights of the con (and the picture which graces the inside of my cover is simply AMAZING!)

Cheers guys!
