Hi xRalphx !
We are working hard on this too ...
At the moment it's quite too early to make any affirmation about this.
But be sure that we will do our best for english translation and for future kickstarter campain.
For the moment, you can already follow the breaking of Ulule Stretch goals, have a look to the gorgeous drawings and listen to a sample of next SoE album.
Support the french community, because from the results of this Ulule campain will depend many exciting new stuff that'll be shared with you !

Re: Beyond book 4
Occultism book you say? That sounds incredibly exciting. I've devoted far too much time studying the works of Crowley, Bardon, and even some work revolving around Bruce. How does occultism fit into the world of Esteren overall? Is it like the true definition being simply the pursuit of hidden knowledge? Or does it denote an "evil" context such as what many would consider chaos magick to be? Or perhaps more a focus on psychosis and finding balance like Hermeticism? I've had some interesting run ins so far throughout my campaign, and I'm definitely curious (though I have a large suspicion it's the chaos type more than anything, as displayed at the end of Red Fall).

Hmm... all of the above?Walker602 a écrit :How does occultism fit into the world of Esteren overall? Is it like the true definition being simply the pursuit of hidden knowledge? Seriously, I'd say that's actually the case: basically, and as you probably already know, the "Occutism" knowledge gathers everything that pertains to hidden knowledge, be it related to Feondas, to ancient magic, to mental phenomena, etc. And since it is about the pursuit of mystic lore, it leads some of its practitioners to dwelve to deeply into some forgotten bits they may come accross, which may lead them to become dangerous users of eerie magics... or simply nutcases.
Of course, as with many elements of the Esteren universe, occultism is mainly what you make it to be, and every GL must feel free to explore such or such aspect of this theme, and do adapt it to their games however they see fit.
In that regard, don't hesitate to share your position on the subject here on the forum; the community will certainly be inspired by such food for thought!

Allez, come on, allons-y, here we go, en avant, godspeed, hardi, let's do this!

Naturally I agree, which is why I'd like to see Book IV: Secrets released. It's hard to retcon something as sophisticated as the arts of divination and evocation. It's really sort of a leash on GM's in multiple regards until it's published.Clovis a écrit : Of course, as with many elements of the Esteren universe, occultism is mainly what you make it to be, and every GL must feel free to explore such or such aspect of this theme, and do adapt it to their games however they see fit.

I can understand that! However, you'll certainly agree that for the same reason, we must be very careful with the Book of Secrets, and make sure that everything makes sense. So far, it has been one of the biggest projects of the series, and you can be sure that even though we cannot provide a release date for the time being, we are working on it!
Regarding rules for divination and evocation, I know that the French community has taken a few stabs at the question, so if you can read a bit of French, it might be worth a look.
