Book 0 - Prologue : the new kickstarter is LIVE!

Yeah, the last hours sure were intense; I personally remained awake to see the end of the Kickstarter, even though it made me go to sleep at 3 am!

All in all, I think it was once more a great experience. Let us hope that for the next campaign, we will be able to do even better!

I think as word of mouth spreads and as more people get to experience how great Esteren is after playing games run by those who supported the first two Kickstarters, we'll see growing interest in the game. If the third Kickstarter also offers the Book 0 and Book 1 as a package, it is likely it'll even surpass the first two in numbers! Hopefully, haha.

It's nice seeing it grow on the English front; what are you guys working on in terms of French publication right now? I know there is a Secrets book, apparently, but do you plan to take it beyond that by publishing more?

About the french production, I'm the one who currently writes the more and my program is quite... charged... but some of the books will be surprises... so I cannot tell everything

What the french knows of the differents books on which we have started to work on :

• Dearg - first chapter of th campaign, with scenarios AND context AND ambiance elements ... the next that will be published in french
• the additionnal content for Book 2 becoming hardcover (+ about 60 pages, maybe a little more ...)
• Secrets : an important stage, we want to make down to a fine art... not an easy objective
• a mysterious "Thema", that means a softcover book with a special thematic & a scenario (about 60 pages) ; it should be published with the new esteren album. No precise date, it depends on the album

... And of course, after that, we will not stop ... that mean, there will be the other chapters of the campaign, and other "themas"... here is in summary what you can find, scattered on the forum...

Tamsyn I am the author of the three scenarios from Prologue so obviously your message makes me very happy
I have playtested them a lot of time and I have to thanks all the players and their feedbacks because it was a great help to improve those scenarios.

It's the book I am also looking forward to most. I rarely run published scenarios, since I prefer improv style and sandbox style GLing. Therefore, Travels sounds like it will have some useful material and Secrets sounds like the book I would really like to have. It's somewhat disappointing that it has been pushed back to book no. 4. But I do understand the reasoning behind that.

And contrary to what I thought in the very beginning, I think I can make Esteren work without the Secrets book (risking that my secrets won't match those in the actual book).

Oh, one more thing: books I would really like to see further down the line (after secrets): dedicated books on Demorthen, The Temple and Magientistes. Also some sort of system for constructing Magientist devices would be great. After that, something on the Continent would be nice.

Wow, it's great to know that you're that interested into Shadows of Esteren! Frankly, most often, when a series publishes many books, I tend to get lost quickly and stick only to the Core Book, since I'm generally more of a sandbox style GM myself. However, it's true that with Esteren, you have more easily accessible material with elements that, I believe, can really provide nice details to the universe, and not just additions ad nauseam.

So if you feel like you're going to follow the series in the long run, then thank you very much! It really encourages us to always go further and do our best.

You are talking to someone who has a complete collection of Vampire: The Dark Ages, Dark Ages Vampire, Vampire: The Masquerade Revised and Vampire: The Requiem.

I am more likely to literally buy into a setting when books are published continously. That's why I am planning on having Esteren both as Limited and Standard Edition.

I really hope you succeed with the Esteren project!
