Running Omens (Book 0)

Hi all!

I recently got Book 1 and 2 and really liked the setting and rules. I now intend to run the Book 0's adventure, Omens.

It is mentioned that the adventure required a experienced GL and it sure shows from reading it.

I'm having a hard time figuring out exacly what's going on. I mean, where exacly in the ruins the players start (Scene 1: Fight)? Also, in scene 2: withdrawal, they say they encounter enemies, but where are they exacly? And how many should I use?

The lack of rules on designing enemies and Feondas clearly requires a higher GMing "level", but the adventure lacks any kind of guidance.

Is there any place where people are discussing balance and such for this game?

Thanks a lot people!

Sorry for the long delay since you posted, I'm gonna try to answer you :)

In the Loch Varn scenario, the players begin in the Scene 1 : Fight. Actually, this scene is meant to set up what the characters will do when you'll "replay" the scene in the next acts, because in the first scene they're in the dream, but when they "go back to the ruins", in fact it's their first time in the ruins, and when they explore it, at one moment they find themselves in the dark corridor, and at this moment you should not let them play, you should just tell them what they did in the beginning of the scenario, in their "dream", but you can cut off the deaths and/or the supernatural events (if you want them to better understand that the first scene was a dream).

For the GMing level about creating Feondas, actually you have Book 2 - Travels, and there is a small bestiary at the end of the book, so you can take examples from these. The first question with your Feond when creating it is "How scary it is?", and the next are "How resistant it is?" and then "How deadly it is?". By answering these 3 questions, you just have to put your ideas into some numbers in the "Feond sheet", and it's done. Actually, a Feond is just a deadly frightening creature, so don't hesitate to make it unkillable

Also, if you want to see what other Game Leaders have to say about their experience running Loch Varn, there is a dedicated thread right here.
