Good day all.

My name's Alex and I was lucky enough to get introduced to SoE at last London dragonmeet (December16). Immediately fell in love with the atmosphere, the simplicity of the system and the beauty of the artwork.
Haven't had a chance to play yet, and I'm up for joining a game in the Essex/London area or an online game in a European time zone (unfortunately I can only speak English).
Looking forward to continuing to explore the world!

Hello,

I'm Jake, from Adelaide, Australia. I stumbled across across Shadows on DriveThruRPG, and after reading through the prologue I bought book 1.

I'm a bit ashamed I haven't backed it at all yet, but I am really impressed with the setting!

My background is mostly in WFRP, but honestly I'm sick of all the elves and dwarves!

Does anyone have any advice on getting started with Esteren? Guidance on the sorts of adventures a GL can put the players up to would be appreciated too.

And most importantly, is there a pronunciation guide available anywhere? A lot of the people and place names don't have an obvious pronunciation to me!

Hello Jake and welcome! Thank you very much for your patronage and enthusiasm.

No worries about being "late to the party." After all, there'll be plenty of other Kickstarters, and thus opportunities to join the fun!

Warhammer is a nice setting, and one I personally play, but I totally understand that you'd like a more down-to-earth setting, and SoE is just what you need for that!

As for advice, I'll try to remain concise, as it is not really the topic for that. Basically, the Prologue adventures are good ones to start, so that your players can start getting familiar with the setting and atmosphere. Then you can elaborate on the PCs' backgrounds and use that as a starting point and inspiration for adventures! That's the basic advice I'd give. I hope it helps!

As for a pronunciation guide, it took a bit of digging and Google-fu, but here it is! It should include everything you need.

Hi there!
Playing RPGs for around 30 years now I'm a long time Fan of Esteren since the first book came out ((missed the kickstarter, but got them in some shops)). I plan to offer the "Loch Varn" adventure at the RPC in Cologne Germany at the end of the month....and after that on some other coming conventions.

Very excited about it and hope there will be some players to build a solid group for the coming campaign
