Welcome to our new Polish member, and to our Norwegian one as well! How nice to see that Esteren is gathering such an international community... that really makes me want to hear about how role-playing games are played in such countries. Most probably not that differently from France, but still...
Kromke a écrit :I hope the popularity of the game wil continue to grow and more products be released :)
We do hope so as well, and we intend to do every possible thing to make that happen!

Hi everybody,
I write from Italy.
Even if I like a pure simulationist approach to rpg (I belong to the old school, since I'm 39) I found Shadows of Esteren really awesome, one of the best I read in the recent times.
I think it will be difficult for me to find players in my country but who knows... the success of this project could easily spread in non-anglophone countries (or francophone, which is not so difficult to assimilate for an italian speaker).

I can't wait to read the book 2 "Travel".

E.

Welcome b33pb33p ! (Not easy to pronounce ! :P )

For the simulationnist aspect, well... you have two solutions : (1) add a few rules where you need it ; (2) use another system and add the psychological rules... not always easy, but if you like to test different things, it could functions... I, as I also am mainly simulationnist, use to add a few new rules and I find it satisfying :)

Hope you find soon players ;) ...

About Book 2, we do the maximum... Nel' will certainly soon tell more about the 2013 planning...

Greetings folks,

I suppose I am the newest member from the USA. I am 42 and discovered this game off the cuff in a little gaming shop. I love the feel of the text and the art through out the entire thing. It feel creepy in the hand. :)

I have a fairly large gaming group and I plan to drop this world on them once I am fluent in it. I would love to get the music. Hearing the sampler online is very nice but where do I purchase the album?

To those folks who have crafted such a lovely game and interesting setting.

Merci,

Austin

Hello everyone,

I'm Axel from Germany. I discovered Esteren just last week and so say I have been obsessed with it is putting it mildly ;)

I particularily enjoy the material you reference and how you managed to blend it. It immediately reminded me of an MMO also from France: Ryzom, which also features a strong Tech vs. Nature theme. Ravenloft, of course, and a little Swedish RPG called Gemini also come to mind. Esteren is full of flavour and promise! Can't wait to see it thrive.
It also has a distinctly European feel to it, even though I could barely explain it.

You should seriously consider getting a German distributor. Rolelaying is going strong this side of the Rhine ;)

All my best wishes for the team, thank you for sharing your vision with us!

Hello Austin, and welcome! A pleasure to know that Esteren has made such a strong impression on you. I hope playing it will double your excitement of discovering the universe, and share it with your Players!

Ah, the album! Right now, we're out of stock, since the few copies we had left in French sold very quickly between Gen Con and the Kickstarters. However, rest assured that we intend to release a new batch of them, which will be available for the release of The Monastery of Tuath... maybe even for Book 2 Travels, but I can't make promises.

In the meantime, if you want to hear a sample from the album to come (yes, there is going to be another album!), check out this topic. Just follow the link and look for the "Un nouvel album de musique" subtitle. Right below, you'll find this preview track.

Hello Axel! Be careful: that's how it starts, and next thing you know, you're in your room lighting candles and muttering prayers to the C'maoghs!

I've heard about Ryzom, but never played it. However, Ravenloft is indeed among our foremost sources of inspiration: you should hear Nelyhann talking about how enamored he is with this game!

Who knows? Basically, all we're asking for is a good opportunity, so if you've got some suggestions to share, don't hold back!

Always a pleasure. After all, without the breath of the people who play it, the flame of a new game wouldn't last long (damn, that was good, I should keep that in mind)!
