Thanks for asking. I have not had time to work on this project the past few weeks, since the semester is drawing to a close (I'm a graduate student, so I don't have a lot of free time anyway. ) However, after I'm done with this semester, I'll get back to working on it.

My plan is this:
I'll create a spreadsheet listing all of the archetypes that we come up with, including details for each such as attack and defense ratings, % chance of hitting an "average" Defense, and average damage against an "average" Defense. I'll also list a few additional skills that aren't strictly combat-related (Stealth, Natural Environment, etc.) along with each archetype,

I'll also include your table and guidelines that you posted above as an alternative/supplemental tool for creating NPCs, so that anyone using our spreadsheet has multiple options.

Sorry for the lack of updates! I'm looking forward to being able to work on the project again soon. :D

Of course, feedback is welcome. I know that it may go a little too much into the details to be used as dime-a-dozen Characters, but still, I think good use can be made of them as NPCs. And heck, it was fun.

Very detailed! It all seems fine to me. I think that Joe ends up far more talented by age 55 than a run-of-the-mill craftsman, but your XP values seem good for creating individuals who are worth giving detailed stats to (important or especially talented NPCs).

You've got a point. Joe must indeed have had a particularly active and fulfilling life compared to a more ordinary and sedentary craftsman. Still, I think the various stages of Joe can be useful according to the type of NPC you want the PCs to meet or deal with. For example, the craftsman of a small village, who did not have many opportunities to go and refine his talents, can be an "Experienced" Craftsman only, even though he may be 40 years old.

This is great stuff and when I start working on my own stats will be really useful. :)

Hey, everyone!

I'm back from an unintentional hiatus -- I thought that my gaming group was going to fall apart, so I lost interest in this project for a while, and then by the time our group started playing again, I was preoccupied with things such as the semester starting, getting engaged, and having my fiancee move in with me. You know, little things. ;)

I'll get back to working on this project now that it's (more or less) certain that our gaming group is going to start the Esteren campaign in the next month or so.

To make up for my absence, I also have another project that I've been working on and that I'll post in another thread in this section shortly... :)

...getting engaged, and having my fiancee move in with me.
Congratulations! Now the question is : is she going to let you play ?
Welcome back and keep us informed (or if you need any help). ;)

Yeah, no big deal. No sweat.

Jokes aside, congratulations! Hope you'll live happily ever after!

I was really wondering if you were going to come back to this project or if it was going to sadly remain unfinished. I'm truly happy that you're back for more, and am looking forward to seeing what you have in store for us!
