Well, looks like everything has already been taken care of! Still Wesker, if you have something else to ask, or if something remained unclear (not that our fellow members did not answer very well), don't hesitate to ask, and I'll also personally do my best to provide you the appropriate answers.

I'd just like to add something regarding Arven's "Fragile" Disadvantage: it was actually basically taken as the opposite of "Sturdy", and it was only realized afterward that there may be a confusion with the "Fragile (-1 Survival point)" Disadvantage. Sorry about that!

Anyway, have a good gaming session; give 'em hell!

Thank you - and Clovis - well - there is something which could help me :-D

I have some difficulties understand in the Sanity information.
So.. they are Balance, Symptom, Syndrome and Madness

So - every Hero starts with zero boxes checked - correct?
If they fail a sanity test I will check the box on the Leader Sheet and continue as long as they did not get professional help? So after missed sanity test number 6 they go to the Symptom stage? Or how does that work?

...and the Hardening.. they get a +3 bonus for 6 hardening points. So +4 for 8 hardening points? How about 1 hardening point?

 :o

Actually, it's kind of an in-depth rule that was only partially taken into account in Book 0 for the sake of simplicity, but basically, here is how it works:

Each Character starts with a certain number of Trauma points (which are indicated in each Character's sheet). The PCs may suffer additional Trauma points during the game, typically when they fail a Mental Resistance roll. Obviously, the higher the Difficulty Threshold for the Mental Resistance roll is, the more Trauma points the Character gets if the roll is failed.

There is a Trauma chart, with 4 stages ("Balance, Symptom, Syndrome, and Madness", as you mentioned), and each one of these stages has 5 points. So for example, a Character with 14 Trauma points is in a state of Syndrome (with the "Balance" and "Symptom" sections filled, and 4 points in Syndrome). As the Character reaches higher states of psychical unbalance, the Latent Disorder of the Character gets worse.

So for example, with Ean, since he starts with 3 Trauma points, he's in a state of Balance, but if he reaches 6, he will be in a state of Symptom, and he will start displaying signs of Paranoia.

Regarding Hardening points, that's another rule presented in Book 1. No need to go too much into the details, so you can do without it for now. Once you and your Players are more familiar with the system, you may implement it, but for now, I think it's better to keep things as simple as possible!

Does that help?

Ah - I didnt see the trauma points - yes - that explains 95% - ty :-)

So.. if we have a difficulty of 20 and the trauma points are 3(1) - what does the bracket mean?

So you do have Book 1? Well, that makes things much simpler!

The number between brackets indicates how many Trauma points the Character suffers if the Mental Resistance roll is successful. Sometimes, no matter how tough you are, there are some things that can only shock you!

Ah - yes I did both KICKSTARTER - though im still missing many things from the HIGH SHADOW pledge and dont get a response asking for them talking to Jim Searcy.

correction - I got one response at 26th of december

But probably nothing is available beside book 0 on PDF at the moment.
Would have really helped me tomorrow.

LAST QUESTION:
A "Trait" is just a helper how to play the character - correct?

Ah, well, I'm sure they're doing their best! It's just that all this international sending makes things very difficult to keep track of, so some difficulties were bound to appear. I hope you don't mind too much.

And yep, the Character Traits for each Character are purely indicative. They do not grant bonuses or have any sort of effect on rolls.

I don't know if you have access to the "Secrets" part of the forum, but if you do, there are two sections there where you can post a report of your gaming session if you want to: "Secrets of Esteren" and "Scenarios".
