Hello
Im preparing our first game session for tomorrow and wondered how they actually look like? Daol has a color and.. thats it? The material of a Daol is always the same?
Is it some sort of stone? Always shaped like a triangle? Where are the Daols produced?
Help!

Hello !
Questions for tomorrow ?... ouch ! ... I'll try to answer quickly :
- daol are metallic
- material is the same for each quality of daol, you just have to think about Dungeon & Dragon : Copper, Silver, Gold... it's nearly the same
... You can also compare to real medieval money : gold pieces must be in gold to be true and that the merchant accept them ...
- Triangle : yes ; also the same weight and size for the same values
- Who produce daols : like in the middle age, the crown and some great lords. You can imagine a daol of taol-ker made in tulg with motives lightly different as the equivalent in Tuaille...
Hope it helped you,
Iris

Another question - the character sheet.
E.g. there is Ean the Archer. He has 8 Perception.
Question 1:
If I look at the Domains and Disciplines, there are only 5 small circles below "Perception".
Where to put the 8?
Question 2:
So - Ean should use his senses to identify what in the almost dark room is, he would roll a die. Let say its a 7.
So - he has 7 for the die, 8 for perception and Reaon 4, that would make 19 - almost solving an very diffiicult task
correct?

Assuming i have read and understood the rules on skill rolls, the answer to your second question would be yes, but he still has to roll to pass a very difficult, so if he rolled a 2 for example, he would failed. With out rolling he would always be able to pass easy and standard resolution difficulty, which i think is the intent of the system and characters created using the system.
Edit,

Realised the mistake i made here, the post below has the right answer, posted before i could edit. Oh well, at least some one got it right.

Question 1 :
the premades character still add the way and the domain/discipline. Ean have 4 in reason and 4 in the perception domain : 8 = 4+4.
It is easier for beginning players but not for game leaders
Question 2 :
The dice give a 7 + 4 reason + 4 perception = 15.
If you have particular question I suggest you to take a look on the different index before :
About daols you would have found
this topic. I don't think you have the book I, Universe but the informations about daols are pages 126-127.
They are made of different metal alloys. Only Houses of the currency have the permission to make new daols and off course, make is own daols is illegal. They have a triangular shape with a hole in the middle in order to allow the passage of a cord.

Thank you very much - you are saving our group tomorrow with helping me out.
...and well - another question (which I dont find the answers I need in Book 0,1 or the Forum)...
Question1:
I see the Personality on the page of the Template characters.
If we stay with Ean, he has
Traits: Persevering, Unreliable
Latent Disorder: Paranoia
So - if he wants to play the character as intended, he should play him stubborn (persevering), unreliable and it should be hard to gain his trust? (Paranoia)?
Question 2:
Is that something which is the outcome of very high or very low Way points?

AddOn Question: If Arven the Fighter is fragile and has one less Survival Points, why are there still 3 Survival Points and not 2 on the charater sheet?

These questions deals with the same mechanics and we have two different things. Traits are what they are : they enhance the personality because they are respectively a quality and a default. They are linked to a major (5) value in a ways, or a minor (1).
There is no bad value : a big score can give a quality or a default. For example with combativeness. high score (5, exceptionally) give you optimistic, courageous (positive) or impulsive, stubborn (negative). A minor value (1, exceptionally 2) give you calm, weighted (positive) or fearful, pessimistic (negative).
This is describe on page 210 in the Book 1, Universe.
Latent Disorder: Paranoia now.
The game have rule about sanity. All characters have a trauma bar reflecting is own sanity. The more trauma he have, the more present his latent disorder is. In the case of Ean, this is paranoia. With stress or during traumatic situations Ean can develop symptoms of paranoia and with over time going crazy. This is explain in the sanity part of the book I, Universe p.269 to 280.
Finally, Arven is fragile and have 9 vigor point instead of the normal 10.
