Les Ombres d'Esteren - Forum officiel

I decide to make theme where all can post movies that have Esteren feel or atmosphere.

I will start
"Braveheart"
Classic. You will know anything about osags when you watch it.

"Berserk".
It have realistic medieval world with feondas and lots of moral conflicts.

"Sleepy Hollow"
It is not visual representation of Esteren, but it very good shows conflict of faith, old tradition, science and occultism.

"Flukt" (2012)
Certainly Esteren movie. Mountain landscapes, good music and good story.

"Camelot" (2011)
Serial dont have good storyline but there are good example of demorten (Merlin), all movie have Celtic feel and even mystic creatures in forest.

"Brave" (2011)
Beautiful movie about Scotland girl. Also there are bear feond.

"Vikings" (2013)
Good tv serial about osag culture.

"Game of Thrones"
Authors mention somewhere that they take inspiration from Martin world.

"Black Death"
Nelyann mentions that Black Death good Esteren movie. Too much witchcraft in it for me.

It is all for now. But I will posts other movies.

First idea that comes to mind is:
"Season of the Witch" good for the dirt and atmosphere ^^

For the psychology I can recommend "Old Boy. Visually in our years, the psychology of the man is so seriously damaged that he can be a study subject for Ernst Zigger in the book 1

Be it the Tv Show or the books I think it is a really good inspiration for Esteren.

Do you mean "Game of thrones", a song of Ice and Fire, from George R.R Martin?
"Iron throne" is the french name, not the english one

Eeeeeee yes I did mean Game of thrones.

Princess Mononoke, Black Death and Brendan and the Secret of Kells were refered to in the French section of the forum.

I would also say Andreï Rublev (the 3h long russian epic) and The Man Who Planted Trees (the short animation adapted from a French book by Jean Giono)... though it's a big stretch at this point.

Can you explain more why you recommend this one? I didn't pay much attention to it when I watched it, so I'm interested to know what about it gives you an Esteren feeling.
