Alternative Map of Tri-Kazel
Re: Alternative Map of Tri-Kazel
I really love the map, but if I compare the distances to the online map, it seems that something is wrong in either map.
If you compare the distance between Melwan and Terkhên compared to the distance between Terkhên and Tulg-Naomh you see that both maps do not match.
Any idea which one is the latest? Or is ther a plan to move both maps closer to each other

Re: Alternative Map of Tri-Kazel
Hi,
That's rather weird.
What I can tell without a doubt is that I used the official map to place every single city.
They should be the same. Possibly a glitch in the online version, dunno.
Do you mind giving the link of the online map?
I'll have a look
Thanks for pointing the issue anyway

Re: Alternative Map of Tri-Kazel
I sent you a PM, as I don't knwo if the MAP is public, as it was a backer's only beta I think.
Re: Alternative Map of Tri-Kazel
Got it,
Where's the register page though. Can't pass the login page

Re: Alternative Map of Tri-Kazel
Sorry, I think you can't register for this page, yet.
It's a beta for the backers of the English Kickstarter only. Maybe I have to wait until there is a final version and compare it then with your map.
Here are just two snippets of the Map, showing the same area and the position of Melwan looks quite different.

Re: Alternative Map of Tri-Kazel
Looks like it's a brand new map from the team.
They somehow changed things a little bit.
The map I've done was made based on the 1st tri-kazel map ever done, the one shown in the core rulebook.
I guess they reworked the continent, the locations and so on.

Re: Alternative Map of Tri-Kazel
I know Pierstoval is the one who designed Esteren MAPS, so if you have any questions on the subject, feel free to send a PM his way, he's certainly the one to ask
Allez, come on, allons-y, here we go, en avant, godspeed, hardi, let's do this!
Re: Alternative Map of Tri-Kazel
The question is rather, imo ... where the heck is this new map coming from? I've haven't heard about a new one coming. But I admit I haven't been around for a while.
Looks like a pretty map, by the way! Must be some kind of Gawain magic. Again.
Pierstoval may have used the map to get some juice out of it, but I doubt he is the illustrator (no offence, hey). I believe you'll get more information by contacting Gawain directly and ask him about the scale between the two maps (I mean, the 1st and the 2nd official maps. Not mine). Maybe it's just about that. Scaling could just be slightly different and may require some adjustments, to match the original version's.
... Or Pierstoval's engine that calculates the distances isn't as accurate as he thought it is. It's worth contacting him as well I reckon
As I'm not able to access the new map, please do contact them and come back to reveal the sneaky secret plot that lies behind the difference between the maps

Re: Alternative Map of Tri-Kazel
Hm... I just compared it with the official map from the Esteren Cartography set (I think it was part of the GM Set) and the map included with the English book 1.
Sorry, but it seems to be a match for the online map. On your map it seems that the distance between Melwan and Terkhên is to small, but this is hard to tell
Anyway I give up on that. I simply tell my players that there are no 100% correct maps around

Good to know. I'll have a look!WoeRie a écrit : Sorry, but it seems to be a match for the online map. On your map it seems that the distance between Melwan and Terkhên is to small, but this is hard to tell
Very true. We usually take the accuracy of the maps for granted. On earth, with satellites, it's easy. In medieval times, it's another story ^^WoeRie a écrit : Anyway I give up on that. I simply tell my players that there are no 100% correct maps around
