Alternative Map of Tri-Kazel
Alternative Map of Tri-Kazel
Hi guys,
I'm currently working with "Zoetrope" (thanks to him again) on the english version of the map of Tri-Kazel I've done lately, but it seems that some names are missing in the official english version.
Can anyone confirm the following statements? I've seen the map from Book2: Travel and they are missing. But what about in Book 1: Universe?
- South of Taol-Kaer, there should be a place called "Howling Fault" (Failles hurlantes in french, as we proposed), south of Deanaidh, north of Iolach.
-West of Gwidre, there should be a big forest called Forest Of Whispers (Forêt des Murmures in french, as we proposed)
I managed to make the logo "Shadows Of Esteren" so it won't take long before I propose you an (nice) english version of the map. Actually, I'm just waiting for the sun to rise Down Under to get a feedback from Zoetrope. Please, don't push him too much, he's doing a fantastic job!
I also plan to do a political map, btw

Re: [EN] Alternative Map of Tri-Kazel
Hullo, Daïn,
It does make me wonder if there needs to be some errata done up for the English version of Book 1 - Universe, though...
I'm not sure what you mean here by an English version of the map of Tri-Kazel. There are the maps in the Book 1 - Universe product, and the huge map that was available as part of the English Kickstarter. (Which I am hoping becomes available to others as well, as it is worth the money if it is offered for sale.)Daïn a écrit : I'm currently working with "Zoetrope" (thanks to him again) on the english version of the map of Tri-Kazel I've done lately, but it seems that some names are missing in the official english version.
Nope, I can tell you that I don't know of this place, and haven't seen any references to it in the English material published to this point. This place sounds interesting, so perhaps an alternate version of the map with this location (and any other ones missing from the French products) would be useful.Daïn a écrit : Can anyone confirm the following statements? On the large English map that was made available, this location is exactly where you mentioned it being, but is unlabelled. On the large map in the English Book 1, pages 22-23, the forest is correctly labelled as the Forest of WhispersSighing Forest. The same is true on the map of Gwidre on page 72.Daïn a écrit : -West of Gwidre, there should be a big forest called Forest Of Whispers (Forêt des Murmures in french, as we proposed)
This stuff sounds absolutely great, and I can't wait to see this additional material for the English game and its players and GMs.Daïn a écrit : I managed to make the logo "Shadows Of Esteren" so it won't take long before I propose you an (nice) english version of the map. Hi John,
I hope my answer helped you.
Daïn wrote about a (very beautiful!!!) non official version of the map he made in french, available here : http://www.esteren.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=595JohnK a écrit : I'm not sure what you mean here by an English version of the map of Tri-Kazel. I feel honored by that, but please don't boost my ego too much, I may start to fancy myself a bit of an artistArthus a écrit :Daïn wrote about a (very beautiful!!!) non official version of the map he made in french, available here : http://www.esteren.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=595
Anyway,
The map I'm talking about is this one:
http://www.cerbere.org/dain/pics/wip-trikazel6e.jpg
and "warriorban" even found a way to get a Tri-Kazel tablecloth (for real!):

The missing names on the english map were found on the french A2 size map available with Book2: Travel (well, book2: Voyage in fact, as it was in french ^^). So yes, it is unfortunately something that should be in an errata, if this is ever done.
I'm glad "Forest Of Whispers" is correct (it was pretty straight forward though )
I guess, as per "Howling Fault", we have to wait for the light of the authors

Hullo, Arthus,
That does indeed provide answers to several questions I was going to ask. Merci beaucoup.Arthus a écrit :Daïn wrote about a (very beautiful!!!) non official version of the map he made in french, available here : http://www.esteren.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=595JohnK a écrit : I'm not sure what you mean here by an English version of the map of Tri-Kazel. Hullo, Daïn,
Mon dieu! You should feel very good about that map, it's beautiful!! If the map you do of this for an English version looks anything like the original, it's going to be magnifique!Daïn a écrit : Anyway,

Yes, definitely going to have to be mentioned in some form of errata. I have to say that I'm looking forward to the translation of Book 2 to the English, but have no idea what the timetable on the part of Agate, ForgeSonges, and Studio 2 might be on this.Daïn a écrit : The missing names on the english map were found on the french A2 size map available with Book2: Travel (well, book2: Voyage in fact, as it was in french ^^). Agreed on both points.Daïn a écrit : I'm glad "Forest Of Whispers" is correct (it was pretty straight forward though )

As far as I understand what Zoetrope said there ( http://www.esteren.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=595 ) Book2: Travel has gone out already
He was talking about book"s" and I assumed they were both out, book1 and book2. It seems I was wrong
Only the names will change on the map, the styles/ rendering will stay just the same

Hullo, Daïn,
Yes, that seems to be the case. Book 1 - Universe has been published in English, and the English version of Book 0 - Prologue is awaiting the Kickstarter as far as I understand. There has been no word yet on Book 2, and whatever it will be in English.Daïn a écrit :Well well,JohnK a écrit :I have to say that I'm looking forward to the translation of Book 2 to the English, but have no idea what the timetable on the part of Agate, ForgeSonges, and Studio 2 might be on this.

This is good to hear. Looking forward to seeing that map.Daïn a écrit : Only the names will change on the map, the styles/ rendering will stay just the same

Re: [EN] Alternative Map of Tri-Kazel
The map is well on its way and I'd need now the official translation for the Taol-Kaer dukedoms. Can anyone write them down here? Please
Cheers

Re: [EN] Alternative Map of Tri-Kazel
Hello All,
The English translations of the Taol-Kaer Dukedoms as shown in Book 1 are:
Dukedom of Dùlan
Dukedom of Tulg
Dukedom of Kel Loar
Dukedom of Osta-Baille
Dukedom of Gorm
Dukedom of Seòl
Dukedom of Tuaille
Dukedom of Salann Tir
Lands of Dèas
I also discovered that the 'Howling Fault' should be 'The Howling Chasms' as outlined on page 34 of Book 1 (English Version). Fault/chasm, geologically similar I guess...!
Cheers,
Z
