Session I: Jack Who?
Going out of their small village, the characters set through the trail heading to Ostreach to gather enough provisions and traverse the forest to Tiliarch.
During their stay at Ostreach, after a speech made by Alan, the temple priest, on the open street (which obviously gather the attention of a pissed-off Demorthén), they notice someone observing them through a door. After uselessly knocking, they finally depart to Tiliarch.
On their journey through the forest, they are surprised by a running woman, who claims to be running away from a bandit.
Right after that, the group is attacked by said bandit, which is rapidly dispatched by Marck (the fighter) and Mirna (the Demorthén), but right before dying is consumed by a weird smoke that came out of the sack he was carrying. Before dissipating into thin air, the smoke takes on a humanoid form that somehow seems related to them.
When the party sets to investigate, they find a leather glove with the family's crest on it and a weird broken glass jar with a ivory crystal top marked with the temple's symbol. Not surprisingly, the woman has fled the scene (after all, she was scared as hell). They follow on only to be taken by guilt on leaving her alone in the woods.
Upon their return to where the bandit's corpse was, they find out that it was dragged on somewhere in the forest, and following the trail, they find a small decrepit cabin with the woman crying over her husband's dead body.
The three engage in a verbal confrontation with the woman and after a series of insults to their father, Mirna loses control and plain outright kills her. Browsing for a while on the cabin, they find a couple of addressed receipts to someone called Jack, and among them is a receipt from their very father.
Unable to deny the connection, they spend the night on the cabin and set on their journey on the next morning. But, instead of going to Tiliarch, they trackback to Ostreach, since one of the slips was addressed there.
Unsurprisingly, the slip was addressed exactly where they were being observed from, and after fiddling around for a while, they find it is a secret chapel of the Temple. But after querying the local priest, he denies the knowledge of any slips, but acknowledges that he knows Jack, the Varigal, from Tulg Naomh.
Setting forth again to Tiliarch on an uneventful journey, they follow rapidly to a Cider Merchant who tricks them into reporting to the local guard, only to buy time and flee the city.
The party finally sets on a plan to infiltrate the merchant's house, and upon arriving there in the middle of the night, they are surprised by something watching them from the second floor. Upon successful infiltration, they finally realize the merchant's plot and find the house empty and messy, as if everybody left in a hurry.
Paranoid and battered down, the group investigates the house only to find a few letters hidden on a drawer...
...to be continued.
