I am very very interested in the game and I would like it if someone could point me in the right direction as to how I can obtain a set of rules. Where can I purchase the books?

Kind of answered you on the Welcome thread but if you want a scaled down version to have a quick look through before committing to the KS, book 0 - Prologue is available for free on DrivethruRPG with 3 adventures and some pre gen characters.

You may be interested in "Greater Shadows" (all the PDF) for 50$ or Varigal (100$, one book of each)...

Or Tri-Kazelian (30$) + adding books of your choice. The corebook is an option at 45$ ... so, I would say, it's far more economical to take the Varigal (100$ for 4 books instead of 75$ for 2)...
