2) Apparently the Temple wanted to stop the growing influence of magientists, wether it was their true motivation or a scam …
Why would they hunt down magientists at the time is unknown, maybe the magientists did something that started the war or they simply wanted to establish a more powerfull monarchy in Reizh.

3) Even if Gwidre was defeated Reizh and Taol-kaer endured heavy loss in this war so they were probably in no position to take advantage of their "victory". It's speculation but I suppose Feonds didn't pass on the chance to attack the kingdoms while they were weakened either, so I think Reizh and Taol-Kaer were more concerned about stabilizing themselves than perpetrating the war.

Or maybe, as suggested in book 2 - Travels, there is some political intrigue behind that, and maybe Gwidre's crown just needed to launch a war (which, I concede, was already in starting blocks since decades for the reasons you are mentioning) to avoid a political scandal related to the king legitimacy...

Val a écrit :Hello ! some answers :
2) You can find some rumors about the start of the war in the extended version of book 2 Travels, in the section concerning the Slope of the fallen.
The Princess Paireinne was disappear (probably murdered) long before war in 850?
And that princess was sister of King Kaergän?
Is I understand right that episode?

The Taol-Kaer King of that period probably was Kailleach? Isnt it?
Please, try not to post spoilers in the public section of the forums! Anything for GM eyes only should be posted in the Secrets part of the forums.

But as far as your questions are concerned:
Valenae a écrit :The Princess Paireinne was disappear (probably murdered) long before war in 850?
Princess Paireinne disappeared between 820 and 850, so soon before the War of the Temple, which took place in 857.
And that princess was sister of King Kaergän?
There's no direct mention of that, but it would indeed make sense.
The Taol-Kaer King of that period probably was Kailleach? Isnt it?
Actually, Kailleach was obviously dead then, since he was alive in 758. The Talkéride King at the time of Princess Paireinne was probably the grandfather of Erald Mac Anweald, the current ruler of Taol-Kaer.
Allez, come on, allons-y, here we go, en avant, godspeed, hardi, let's do this!

Another two questions.

Was there succession of royal bloodlines uninterrupted?
All kings that rule today is direct descendants of Three brothers?

Before the War Magientists was more popular in Gwidre?
Have they had schools and laboratories there?
As I understood there is no official Magientists in Gwidre now?

Allegedly, they are. At least, there's nothing in canon material to indicate that this isn't the case. Should you want it to be otherwise in your version of Esteren, go wild!
Before the War Magientists was more popular in Gwidre?
Magience (in Reizh) and the Temple (in Gwidre) reached the peninsula at roughly the same time, so it is likely that the Magientists did not have the time to settle in Gwidre before the faithful of the Temple gained enough influence there to prove a significant hurdle for the spreading of Magience.
Have they had schools and laboratories there?
If they have (and whatever few may have existed could probably only be built not very far into Gwidrite territory), these buildings have probably been razed by the religious authorities.
As I understood there is no official Magientists in Gwidre now?
Magience does exist in Gwidre, but it is very tightly controlled. For example, selling Flux is very closely regulated, and heavily taxed, as the Equipment chapter shows.

Finally, I am starting my Temple War Campaign yesterday!

I name it "Notebooks about the War of the Temple".

Indeed it was a great campaign.
We play two parts of it, then we make a big break with Esteren and playing DnD5.
Now when I recieve Occultism I decide to start Esteren again (and run all official scenarios )

The campaign was actually named Commentaries on the Temple War

It takes place in past just before war.
First part of it was about young noble who was suceedes border castle from his father and was pulled to political intrigue by Reizhits.
Second part was about investigation in Royal Court and was ended with first big battle of War.
I themed that campaign in game of thrones style, realistic and harsh.

I have general idea about what other parts of campaign will looks like and maybe will run it one day.

Awesome! Glad to know everything went so swimmingly! Game of Thrones can indeed be a fitting atmosphere for an Esteren campaign.
