Ran "Blood Feathers" Last Night... Got Some Questions
Re: Ran "Blood Feathers" Last Night... Got Some Questions
It's true my home rules about grappling have some similarities with D&D's, and it is likely that it influenced my way of managing such situations. However, my "revised version" is much simpler, with only one or two rolls to make and a pretty straightforward way of functioning, which I think fits SoE's style well.
Allez, come on, allons-y, here we go, en avant, godspeed, hardi, let's do this!

See, I would have argued it's easier to grapple than smack something with a sword.T.J. a écrit :I can see explaining it as "it is more difficult to grab someone than to smack them with a sword" as being a good way around it. I personally hate when you get into the cycle of grappling rules (a la D&D/Pathfinder) so any system that cleans that up is good with me
Grabbing things is something we have very good tools for: arms and hands. And we've been doing it since we were infants. It's intuitive. Swinging a sword to hit a target with accuracy?
That's a learned skill.
Yeah, I think it's far easier to avoid someone swinging a club than someone intent on giving you a bear hug.
