But maybe it really is not tattoos, but Woad paint and similar (henna) - they are not permanent, but sticks quite good to the skin.
Tattoos in the old days, was an art that took quite a long time to do - so it would have had to be done by a very select few.

Re: Dhumbear (a small village)
Yeah it does, going to take a vacation for 1 week in my hometown - maybe I can have a small scenario there with a couple of friends - it's been really irking me that I have not tested it sooner, as I love the game, and the system do feel solid.

Printer friendly character sheet?
Are there any printer friendly Character sheets for Esteren, that are not colored background (the official is grey). Those use a lot of toner/ink, and also are not suited at all for use with pencils.. So any white background sheets? The original sheets could have done this, if there had been layers ...

Since I now have the possibility to read and post in the secrets forum - I will post both places. This thread will be the Players Guide to Dhumbear and the one in the Secrets section will be The Game master guide.

Well, if the setting only by a glance mimics any real world medieval world, entertainers should not be uncommon in the bigger cities or as traveling crews.

Hm any NPC that gets picked up and played by a Player is a PC. So for this purpose they are a legion of stats and free background for who ever wants to play them

Hey Clovis
The one from ASOIAF is quite fast and easy to use, so it would fit with the themes of EoS I think. Its nice to have in case a War erupts in someones game. Are they really nessecary, no not really - but I like to give players as much control as possible without a subsystem taking over.
