Of course not. I'm not saying our way of doing things is the status quo. That's what roleplay should be about anyway: playing characters with feats, you (usually) don't express in your normal life. :D
Our campaigns (regardless of the system) tend to be very social oriented and we had players with ...

I think the problem of storytelling is that the focus is on the story, not on the actions of the players, which could (but of course does not need to) result in railroading.

Storytelling or Dice rolling, what gameplay do you prefer?
Hello everyone,
I've got this rather generic question about your preferred style of gameplay, when running/playing Shadows of Esteren: Do you like story to be the main focus of your play, or is it your character and its decisions/consequences based on heavy dice rolls?
I'm from Germany and my ...

Re: Bloodborne in Esteren?
Good day everyone!
I'm a GM that's running a small Esteren game once a week. My group has just finished the Poison scenario in Book 0, and I'm thinking of where I can take them now.
Eventually I'd like to run them through a large scenario that covers the large points of Bloodborne (a game on the ...

Re: Monestary of Whoa
Just thought i'd point out that the monestary of tuath told me it ran 5+ hours but we are 4 sessions in (4-5 hours each) and just now approaching the final scene. Anyone else run this and have a similar issue? I mean i'm loving the scenario but my players are at the point where they're more just ...

Thank you for the permission!
I ran the Loch Varn mini campaign already with a group and they really enjoyed the plot and SoE as a whole. I'm looking forward of creating an own campaign now.

Re: [Official] Red Fall
To be honest, this was the most uninteresting scenario presented by the book to me in the way it should be played, so let me described how I altered it:
The start was probably the best part of the whole thing: The crippled PC awakes at the shore of the red lake with no memories and a young, dead ...

Re: Introduction of the Members
Hey there,
my name is Daniel, I'm 28 years old and from germany. I already hosted 2/3 of the Loch Varn scenarios from Book 0 in my group and this weekend we finish with it the Red Falls oneshot.
I'm currently looking at material for a campaign, I already found lots of interesting stories and other ...

Thanks for sharing!
Did you already write the last part of your campaign or is it still in progress?

Re: Looking for Book 3 Dearg
Thanks for the help.
Sadly you are right, I was also told that the Kickstarter campaign for an english translation won't be starting before summer 2016.
Anyways, I found some stuff online in blogs or videos so there is also some food for me. :)
I have to admit I'm better at mixing existing stuff ...
