Re: Survival Points
My idea was to steal from Dark Heresy's Fate Point system, and have survival points spent on re-rolls "refresh" every session. Points spent to Not Die are "burned" and lost forever. that said, in Dark Heresy, burning a fate point guaranteed your narrative survival; say someone blew off your leg and ...

Re: New Magientist Questions
A player in my game did the exact same thing. I don't think he jacked his attack bonus quite so much, but he did really push the "Weaponized Circular Saw" thing; he used it to solve all sort of problems, like locked doors. Such a character is still hideously overspecialized, and should thus expect t...

The benefit of the circular saw over a claymore is that its a WEAPONIZED MAGEPUNK CIRCULAR SAW.
Also, you can more effectively use it to saw through objects and obstructions out of combat, like doors and such.

Re: Stuck in the iron age?
Desciptions of the Continet seem to suggest a steampunk/dieselpunk/neo-industrial level of technology; Magience runs one big power block, and then there's the super-northern arctic theocracy. No other places are mentioned. But yes, the super-magience nation apparently CAN make flying machines. Maybe...

Re: Questions about Demorthen and Magience
If I might put forth my personal genre-savvy-ness and experiences running the game: Magience is like science in the same way that SCIENCE! is like science. Its super-science. It depends on what kind of game you run; since the players already understand the basic tenants of science in the real world,...
