Presenting Your Gaming Tables...

Hullo, folks,

Figured I'd borrow a thread from the French section of the forums. Since there must be quite a few of us English speaking Game Leaders signed up for the forums now, I figured I'd start the thread here.

The reason I've started this thread is because my gaming groups will be starting character creation for Shadows of Esteren this weekend, and I figured I'd want to talk about the gaming groups somewhere! :) And I'm interested to hear about the player characters in other people's gaming groups, too! :)

It would be interesting to know a little more about the various Game Leaders here and your gaming tables. So I offer this discussion thread to showcase your gaming tables:
- How many players do you have at your table?
- Presentation of the characters created at your game table.
- Presentation of the major focus of your future scenarios. For example, survival rather than investigation? Combat rather than mystery? Or something else?

To keep this thread readable, each post should deal only your game table or tables (if you have more than one gaming group).
Cheers!

...I'm new to the boards and to Shadows of Esteren, so please be kind to me.

Hi !

you can't attach files in the forum, but you can use the [img] tag ton display the pictures. However, you must host the images for your own.

Hi,
For image hosting, i would recommend "ImageShack" as it is very simple, keeps records of the uploaded files and also provides different options for sharing.
Have a look and give us pics of the greatness of your gaming table ;)

"It was not possible to determine the dimensions of the image."

What could it mean? :(

Weird :?
Try to open/ save your file again with another name, using Paint/ Gimp/ whatever program suits you.
Jpg works best. There's no reason it shouldn't work.

The only thing to keep in mind is that, when posting, the pic should be no more than 710pix wide (I downsize mines at 709pix, just to be sure). Otherwise, the forum won't allow you to show it ;)

- How many players do you have at your table?
Now I try as much as possible to promote Esterеne in Russia.
And I run three (!) tables at once. Each table have around 3-5 players.
Each table runs in different kingdom.

- Presentation of the characters created at your game table.

Very different.
Tarish bard who was initiated in wichcraft.
Cleric-noble trying to get his legacy.
Occult detective with sympathy to Magience.
and so on...

- Presentation of the major focus of your future scenarios. For example, survival rather than investigation? Combat rather than mystery? Or something else?

In Gwidrite party there are classic medieval theme of restoration of lost legacy in King Arthur mythology style.
In Reizh group there are short detective stories (canvas) about mystical cases.
And in Taol-Caer is exploration kind campaign.
The Leader should not hesitate to slaughter the PCs at the slightest mistake in order to instil a heavy, horrific atmosphere

Waoh,
I'm glad to see you explore all the ways the universe of Shadows of Esteren permit. I regret myself not having time to write all the things I want to do. Some places are awesome (Bald-Ruoch, Ard-Monach, ...) Personaly, I want to learn more about the Rheizhite canvas.

How spend your the parties? Is that players enjoy the world they discover? Do you feel comfortable with the rules now?

Thought this might be the place to show some of the gaming aids I use at my table ...

I took the attitude cards I made earlier, added color coded circles for each attitude, then used 3.5x5" plastic stands to hold images of the players. On the front of each stand is a small round magnet (black) where colored magnetics discs (Alea Tools) can be attached to indicate attitude. On the back of the stand is another picture of the character plus general information about the characters personality, age, etc. Finally a business card holder is used to hold visuals that are presented to the group. (Of course there is the GameMastery combat pad that helps to keep track of combat order.)
