Special Abilities of the Template Characters
Special Abilities of the Template Characters
Hello everyone,
im starting a Shadows of Esteren Group in Munich, Germany.
We have 2 Sundays blocked this month only for the game.
So.. I must confess I have a bit trouble getting into everything (im the "story teller" - not a player).
First question - someone wants to play Urvan, the Adept of the Temple (I only allow Template Characters at start).
Does he has any special prayer abilities like mentioned in the Book 1?
Miracles of the Temple on page 256
If yes - how can he use and choose it?
Thank you
Wesker

Re: Special Abilities of the Template Characters
None of the premade characters have special features. The only one is Mirna, who has a pet wolf.
Urvan has no special prayer

Thank you very much - I was really worried I did not understand the characters at all. You just saved our group.

ANOTHER QUESTION (hope someone reads this)
Melwan's Vale
I dont understand yet how the structure is. Do we have a King and Lords in SoE?
As I understand in Melwan there is a council but no real leader or major?
And the Mac Lyrs are...? The Lords of the Valley or the Land?
And how does that fit in Tulg's dukedom?
Please help

Re: Special Abilities of the Template Characters
It is specific to each kingdom, but yes, there are at least three kingdoms
Melwan is a vale ruled by the Mac Lyr family, and the main eponym village has about 150 inhabitants.
Taol-Kaer is a feodal kingdom. A king, many lords, barons and dukes, and other noble-blood people.
Each place has his own feodal system. Then, the kingdom has dukedoms, which have barronies which have special places (villages, or sth like that) under the direction of Ansaielirs, like indicated in the book 1

Thank you - and Melwan has no major or leader? Everything decided by the "council" ?

Re: Special Abilities of the Template Characters
Lords of Melwan is Mac Lyrs. But non important business is decided by council (sometimes with representatives of Mac Lyr).
The Leader should not hesitate to slaughter the PCs at the slightest mistake in order to instil a heavy, horrific atmosphere

Yes I took it they didn't want to get involved in the day to day running of Melwan.

Don't forget about the local Demorthèn, Wailen, who acts as a spiritual leader of sorts: although she is not as directly involved in the village's life as some Demorthèn may be, she is still a respected figure, and often acts as the final judge in important matters.
Allez, come on, allons-y, here we go, en avant, godspeed, hardi, let's do this!
